OfficeMoods is an innovative startup I founded in 2023, one of the first mental well-being applications to leverage OpenAI's ChatGPT LLM. The app provides employees with tailored recommendations based on anonymous survey results, tracking key metrics such as anxiety, stress, workload, and perceived support. These insights are delivered to company dashboards with high-level analytics, offering management actionable data to improve workplace well-being. Additionally, OfficeMoods introduced a new form of Net Promoter Score (NPS) to measure internal human resources metrics, enhancing tracking of employee satisfaction, retention, and burnout. This project not only showcased my UX design skills but also my leadership in managing a fast-paced development team, coordinating with investors, and spearheading marketing efforts.
In the evolving landscape of remote work, there was a growing need for tools that could help companies better understand and support the mental well-being of their employees. Traditional methods of tracking employee satisfaction were insufficient in addressing the unique challenges posed by remote work environments. Our goal with OfficeMoods was to create a comprehensive mental well-being application that could provide meaningful insights and actionable recommendations to both employees and management.
The primary task was to develop an app that tracks key mental health indicators such as anxiety, stress, workload, and perceived support. This app needed to provide high-level analytics to management, enabling them to make informed decisions to enhance workplace well-being. Additionally, it required creating a new form of NPS to track employee satisfaction and offer tailored recommendations for improvement.
As the UX designer and leader of a small development team, I managed the entire process from conceptualization to execution. I collaborated with investors, marketing teams, and developers to create a user-friendly interface that adhered to privacy regulations. My role involved extensive user research, competitive analysis, and iterative design to ensure the app met the needs of both employees and management.
We developed a questionnaire that predicted Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and provided tailored recommendations based on risk taxonomy. The app was designed to be used by urgent care centers, mobile doctors, and other healthcare providers to support intervention. The development process was fast-paced, requiring me to balance multiple workloads and ensure seamless communication between all stakeholders.
The Office Moods app successfully tracked and analyzed mental health indicators, providing actionable insights to management. The new form of NPS allowed companies to better understand employee satisfaction and implement targeted interventions, leading to a reduction in reported burnout and a 15% increase in employee retention. The app received positive feedback for its user-friendly design and effectiveness in promoting mental well-being. This project demonstrated my ability to lead a team, manage multiple responsibilities, and deliver impactful solutions that improve workplace health.
This experience taught me the importance of UX in a fast-paced startup environment and the need for strong communication with development teams. By balancing multiple workloads and managing a diverse team, I was able to create a product that not only improved individual well-being but also provided management with the data needed to foster a healthier and more supportive work environment.
