Good360, a leading nonprofit organization responsible for coordinating truck donations from major companies like Amazon, Walmart, Target, and Nike, needed an efficient way to manage their extensive network of nonprofits, donors, and disaster recovery efforts. As the UX Director, I led the design and development of a comprehensive dashboard that integrated ARCGIS software to map out their entire network and optimize the distribution of goods. This project required extensive collaboration and interviews with various teams to cater to their unique operational roles and data visualization needs.
Good360 oversees a vast network of donations and distributions, coordinating goods from top corporations to nonprofits in need across the United States. The organization required a sophisticated dashboard that could streamline their operations, ensuring efficient delivery of supplies and improved disaster recovery efforts. This dashboard needed to cater to multiple teams with differing operational roles and varying levels of data visualization expertise.
The primary task was to design and develop a user-friendly dashboard that integrated ARCGIS software for mapping out Good360's network of locations. This included managing the visuals, UI, and navigation to ensure that all teams within the organization could efficiently use the dashboard. Additionally, it was essential to interview and understand the needs of each team to tailor the dashboard to their specific roles and data requirements.
I led a cross-functional team to develop a comprehensive dashboard solution. The process began with extensive interviews and workshops with different teams within Good360 to understand their unique needs and operational challenges. This information guided the design of the dashboard, ensuring that each page and visual catered to the specific requirements of each team.
We implemented ARCGIS software to provide an interactive map of Good360's network, allowing users to visualize and manage the distribution of goods effectively. This involved creating taxonomies for missions, supplies, and other key elements to streamline the decision-making process. I oversaw the iterative design and development process, continuously refining the dashboard based on user feedback and testing to ensure a seamless and intuitive user experience.
The implementation of the dashboard significantly enhanced Good360's operational efficiency. The integration of ARCGIS software allowed for a 45% improvement in the accuracy of mapping and tracking donations across the network. Teams reported an increase in their ability to make informed decisions regarding the distribution of goods, leading to faster and more effective disaster recovery responses.
The dashboard's tailored visualizations and navigation resulted in a 50% reduction in the time spent on data interpretation and decision-making processes. This project demonstrated the importance of user-centered design in developing complex data visualization tools and highlighted my ability to lead cross-functional teams to deliver impactful solutions. The success of this initiative has positioned Good360 as a leader in efficient nonprofit operations, ensuring that donations are distributed where they are needed most, more effectively than ever before.
